High School Diploma or GED required PLUS Five (5) years experience as a licensed amateur radio operator.
Possession of at least a Federal Communications Commission General Class or higher radio license is required.
Must possess ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Basic/ Level 1 Certification.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
College degree is preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants with experience in emergency communications, emergency operations centers, volunteer coordination, plan development, and program management skills desired.
Must complete ARRL Public Service and Emergency Communications Management for Radio Amateurs and ICS-300/ICS-400 courses within one (1) year.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS: City of Fort Worth policy on acceptable driving record required.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record required.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To provide liaison, coordination, and support for the RACES organization and members as well as the Office of Emergency Management (OEM). To assist in the coordination of amateur radio support during severe weather watches and special events. Develops and implements procedures and performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Maintains amateur radio equipment in the Fort Worth OEM offices and Emergency Operations Center. Coordinates annual SkyWarn training program with OEM and National Weather Service. Office environment; field environment; travel from site to site; occasional exposure to potentially hostile environments and emergency scenes; noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, and gases. Other duties as assigned.

All we can do not now is hope for the best and pray we get a NEW Liaison Officer that will be fair, understanding, and willing to lead this organization into a better future. I know thats all I ever asked for.

All I can say is that there are two people that were in Kitzmans group that I'm sure are going to apply for the position (Trey and Gerry) and trust me folks, the intel I have gotten on these two, WE don't need these two IN CHARGE of RACES.
Gerry is somewhat ok to maybe be in RACES, but not to lead, and Trey, he does not need to be in RACES at all. Especially all the crap I found on him.
Just an FYI, Andy Kitzman was not brought into the RACES leadership FORMALLY, like it should have been. He was recommend and was giving the position just like that.
Kitzman had NONE of the requirements you see posted on the City page. So when Kitzman was in charge, he recruited Trey and Gerry to join his "crew". And for a long time, the EMO just turned and looked the other way and let Kiztman, Trey and Gerry do what they wanted to do, even if it was illegal, but I think the EMO didnt know about the illegal things till now.
And come to find out Kitzman actually started ok, till Trey brainwashed everyone in the "crew" and had everyone following him. Just an FYI, Trey is just a mortician. He is not DHS, FBI, CIA, ASTRONAUT or whatever he says he is.
When I first met Trey he told me he was DHS and LE. I knew he was full of shit.
Trey is out there trying to become everything and be everything so he can feel important and so that he can give orders to people.
He doesn't care about you, me, or anyone else in RACES. All he cares about is himself and being noticed.
And unfortunately, Gerry has followed Trey right behind him and become his sidekick.
So all I'm saying, Trey and Gerry would not make good leaders. Who will? Someone that will be fair, honest, and will communicate with the members. Who that is? I really don't know, but I'm sure there are plenty of good candidates out there.
And this blog was made to VOICE OPINIONS, not make decisions. For people to vent.
Let me ask you this, during Kitzmans, Trey and Gerrys leadership role in RACES, did you know what was going on in the organization besides the monthly nets? Even right now, after Kitzman left, do know whats going on in RACES? What happen at the last leadership meeting? Whats on the RACES agenda? You go and ask that to all the members on the roster, almost 3/4 of them, if not all, would say "I don't know"
So, all I can say is hope for the best. And hope RACES, and its leadership can be restored back to the way it was before Kitzman, Trey and Gery screwed it up.
So what illegal acts are going on? Frankly I am skeptical about any of your charges. It's easy to suggest misdeeds are occurring and hope they take on a life of their own in rumor and conjecture. So basically I say, put up or shut up.

You apparently don't mind making the decision that Trey nor Gerry should be the leader but waffle when it's time to step up and back the organization you claim to care for so much. Sitting back and hoping the city makes a good decision is bad politics, the city works for you and your suppose to have a voice but you'll never be heard this way. ReplyDeleteFirst, I am not talking shit or acting like a tough guy. Your the one calling people names and threatening them.
Second, I could give two turds about RACES and I am not the one crying about nothing being done while refusing to come out from behind my PC. When I feel so strongly about something I care so much about I have protested and fought (through legal channels) to make change and I have been very successful.
Third, I am not a friend of Trey's nor am I an enemy. I just know who he is.
Fourth, If you believe something illegal is going on then you have the moral responsibility to make it known. If the city won't do anything then you must make it public.
Fifth, If "we as regular people can't change things" then you might as well get comfortable in you life as a serf. The fact is that we as regular people can always make a difference but in democratic forms of government you need more than one or two people and you seem to have 75 that will support you. 75 should make enough noise for the big city folks to hear you.
Sixth,Are there even 75 people in RACES?
